Is there a metal funnel?

Not sure if such a funnel exists. I'm looking for a metal funnel, at least 10 in diameter at the top, with a metal screen. The tapered part must be angled to fit the fill spout on the vertical side of a car?

I want to use a metal funnel with a screen. No matter how careful I am, I can always see inside a gas can some crap or a small pieces of dirt that I'll find in the metal screen. Thanks.

Northern tool has one, 6 quart, galvanized steel, offset spout, with a screen $19.99

MSN,
I googled pics of Northern funnels. I don't want an offset funnel, I want the small tapered part to be offset about 45 degrees.

I want the top round part to be horizontal and offset part goes in the vertical gas cap on the side of a car .

I went to ebay and found a funnel close to what I'm looking for. I need the spout part to be small enough to fit a car's gas tank.

I needed the same thing so I just altered a steel one with a long spout. Cut a section out below the funnel body shaped like an orange slice, bent spout to close up gap, then soldered it. Never leaked.

Steve, I would like to find something with a longer spout. Found another vintage funnel. I would want it to be bigger.

The funnel I used was 14" across and spout was 12" long. Needed it bent for refueling aircraft with rubber fuel cells so we wouldn't risk hitting the bottom.

I have a plastic job with a flex spout that works kinda like what you want George. Only problem is it doesn't hold itself upright. Takes 3 hands.

We used screened metal funnels when I was a kid, but today I'd rather use plastic. One small static spark could have bad results.

Gambles
If you are worried about static spark the worse thing you can use is plastic.
Plastic does not allow the static electricity to find ground so a spark results.
This is the reason they do not allow plastic buckets on gasoline loading racks.

With a metal fuel tank; a metal funnel; and a metal gas can all touching before you start to pour allows any static charge to dissipate evenly between all the components preventing a spark.

When most outboards were 2-stroke some marinas had mixing funnels, large galvanized with a fine screen. They would start the gas running and then pour in the oil, it would mix in the funnel. I have a small one, made by Eagle.

I got one that came with my sand blaster from Hf.it sounds just like what your looking for so someone makes em.

David,
My rural king have two metal funnels. I have one of each kind. Neither has the part that goes in the tank at a 45 degree angle.

I'm thinking if I can't buy what I want, I'll have to make one using copper tubing that will fit in car tank and adapting it to the rural king funnels. I do have some 3/4 hard drawn copper tubing so it will will not cost me anything if I can locate some 45 or 90 fittings, FREE.

I was in Orscheln's yesterday and noticed they had 2 different metal funnels. One had a center spout and the other had a side spout. Both had a fine screen in them to stop trash

(quoted from post at 18:52:32 06/17/17) Ebay. Search "vintage gas funnel"

Here's what happens when you do that: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-70-YEARS-OLD-OR-OLDER-LARGE-GALVENIZED-FUNNEL-18-IN-TALL-12-IN-DIAM-/121055176562?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275

I'm sure it's a great deal, what with being "vintage" and all.
