power washer

I have a Campbell Hausfeld gas powered power washer. Lately it will not pump up to pressure it is rated at 2400 PIS, I am guessing that its pumping less than half of what it is rated at. I have not torn into the pump yet, the Honda motor is running great as usual but I don't have very much pressure. I am wondering if the pump has trash in it. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

Check your unloader valve
Its got a black round plastic cover
Take it off and pull it out and lubricate it
They will stick occationally
u tube has good video on this

My inlet filter was clogged with pieces of algae out of inside of feed hose. Also if nozzle is worn, will make a great difference in performance. Replace it. Routine maintenance.

When I had pump issues with my CH washer, I found parts for pump were no longer available, got a new pump.

I think a lot of crap gets into pump, crap from hoses. So I have a way to purge crap and air from hose before I start my washer. You would be surprised what gets in a hose. I'll never loan my washer and I'll never let it run if my hand isn't on the trigger. Water has to be flowing for pump to stay cool. That's why I purge air and never allow pump to run without water flowing.

Good luck.

Have you ever changed the oil in the pump? It's probably too late, but it doesn't take much. DON'T USE MOTOR OIL, use ISO 68 tractor oil. Have you checked/cleaned your orifice? If the spray pattern looks off, that's a good place to start. Most of these things come with several different sizes, try another. And of course check the little screen at the inlet.
