I like the bolt type with the sleeve better than the type with the little collar and the tapered head at the bottom,the sleeve always pushes against the tapered collar to expand it and the one without the
sleeve sometimes doesn't grab the sides if the hole is a little large like you stated.I rarely use the lead ones anymore.

Yes, the lead ones are rarely used anymore, and never in industry, the lead is too soft to really hold very much. We started using some epoxy anchors in industry because the bolt is less apt to rust away in the hole.

Pretty sure the lead anchors have been outlawed in the fire codes . They are for electricians pipe hangers.

I prefer all thread set with anchoring cement.
