De-humidifiers again

Notice that lowes offers a two year extended warranty on de-humidifiers for $24.00 which begins after the one year factory warranty. Warranty does not repair but replaces only, even normal wear, power surges and other conditions. Perhaps that is the was to go, still a gamble but it might fail in that three year period. On another note i see where lowes is offering 10% discount all the time to vets who sign up. Certain limitations may apply. I got my card today, in alabama that pretty much pays the tax.

I buy all my appliances form Lowes, FREE deliver, set up and removal of old. My other choices are HH gregg and Sears, both of which are about to close their doors.

I'm a believer in Lowes extended warranty. I buy the 5 year warranty. Well worth the money. One service call is more than the cost of warranty. Lowes extended warranty does pay off. They gave me a full refund on an 18 month old junk whirlpool washer.

Check into a longer warranty. My issue with the newer de-humidifiers are the digital controls which have to be reset after a power blip and the paper thin copper tubing used in evaporator and condenser coils. That's where I found numerous pin hole leaks.

Only problem, the refund is an in store credit, you have to spend it at Lowes which isn't a problem with me.

Check out an AIR CONDITIONER it may be cost effective and keep you cool.

I've heard to open a window or drill a small hole put in steel wool(just enough to keep the bugs out)
is better than a De-humidifier.
