Honda Eu2000i only runs on choke

Carb needs to be cleaned. Common problem on all gas generators. That sit for a long time. Some times you can run it on a gas cleaner.Works to clean it out. Sometimes you have to clean it by hand.

When you get it fixed, only shut it off by shutting off the fuel at the tank and run until all gas in carb is gone. Store with carb dry.

I would try some Sea-foam, but maybe you waited too long. It's best to treat the fuel as soon as you sense a problem. Like someone else said, always shut of the fuel and run it out.

This is why we operate our small equipment on 91 octane non ethanol fuel. And as previously stated shut off the gas valve and run the engine until the carb is dry.

I have had my Eu2000i for six years,no issues yet. I always put Seafoam in every time I put gas in it. At work they have quite a few of them, once they leave the shop, maintenance is pretty much non existent, and no major problems. I would put a good dose of Seafoam in the gas and run it for a while and maybe it will come out of it.

I've got half-a-dozen portable Asian generators here and they all do that if sitting for over half-a-year without being started. Note I use Stabil in my gas. I also have tried standard pump fuel with up to 10% ethanol and also the pricey non-ethanol gas. Made NO difference. Easy fix with all of mine. Just pull the fuel bowl off the carb and blow the main jet tube out with air. Then all works fine.

Run Sea-Foam through it. Loosen drain screw for carb after every use if its going to sit. Been through the same thing with mine. No problems since I started draining carb. Mine is over ten years old. May take a few tanks of sea-foam and gas to straighten it out.
