Recycling Old Deck Wood

Hello,

I needed to take the lawn tractor back after the fix, so I made a set of ramps out of the old decking. Just long enough to go in the truck bed. The metal piece is from new old stock shelving. The other end is a piece of step trim. I delivered the tractor today and was easy to load and unload,

I made a couple of small ramps for my old lowboy trailer out of metal I-beam off of the trailer tongue of an old mobile home. Works great. Just bolted a piece of angle on one end to hook on the lip of the trailer.

Hello kcm,

Yep sure love to recycle. After spending a few hours getting the lawn tractor ready, I was not in the mood to fight it up the truck,

Guido,
I have a pile of recycled old deck wood in the gravel pit.

I made my ramps from 8 ft treated lumber and bought metal gismo from lowes. I got the widest one they sell. Then used chainsaw and angle cut the other end of the wood.

I made my own metal piece for my 10 ft ramps I use on my dump trailer. The wood ramps weigh a fraction of the shorter metal ones that came with the trailer.

Amazon sells them too. I love mine. Lip rests on tail gate.

Hello Geo-TH,In

I like them, they are long enough as I made them. Will fit inside the truck bed x wise. Heavy lumber and pressure treated, should last awhile. Worked good getting that broken down lawn tractor back home to the owner, he is happy!

Guido,
I don't leave home with out a pair of 8 ft ramps in my truck. I use mine for mowers and to put anything in my truck using appliance cart. I also roll my generator and pressure washer in truck. Do you have the metal clips on one end? I love mine.
