European cord to US plug

My grandson has a drone that was purchased in Germany. It has a two pin European plug so he can't charge it here. Two wires, no ground. The charger's label says 100-250 VAC and 50/60 Hz for the input so (I thought) it should work. I put a NEMA plug on it and the charger's LED shows "abnormal charge." Is there something I missed?

Sounds like it should work according to the label.

Do you have an owners manual, (or can probably find it online)?

There may be a switch near the power cord, or internally, that needs to be set for the proper voltage.

Check you have got the polarity correct Euro wiring colours: Brown is + Blue is - BUT on automotive D.I.N standards Brown is ground!

The charger should work as you have it. 220 volt European standard does not have a ground like we do.

When electronics companies got smart, they package a cord meant for the destination area. The charger is the same worldwide; only the cord is different.

If it is one of those LiPo batteries, keep a close eye on it for heating or swelling. Do not overcharge. I am just getting back into r/c electric planes and quadcopters and the sales people have been telling me to be very careful with charging and discharging.

Check on the internet for information About European Electrical Current. You will probably get enough info to correct the problem. I know that my daughter had issues, the plugs being a different style than ours.

Looking over the charger it has five contacts to the battery. I reached a finger in to see if they were all in place and the indicator started flashing blue like with the battery. I have a feeling it may be the battery even though it looks fine. I have an email in to their customer service. I'll post back what I learn.

The ones I recall back in the 60's ran on 200 something, maybe 250, maybe somewhere inbetween, don't remember. Plug was 2 round
posts, same length, same diameter. Have no idea what they use today.
