Flo-n-go gas can

I bought one off ebay. It doesn't have an auto shutoff as
advertised. I over filled the Kawasaki mule and ran gas on
floor AGAIN. This thing has issues holding it prime. I even put
the handle on a clear hose and saw lots of air bubbles in hose.
I removed the part that goes in the tank and used just the
handle and clear hose.

I'm thinking of returning it. Good chance I won't because
seller may make me pay return shipping.

Not buying another one.

That's why I buy off of Amazon, and Amazon Prime when I can. Can't tell you the amount of 'junk' I've received that all went back without cost to me. Hell, they usually refund my costs before they even get the thing back!

That is why I buy 99.99% of stuff in a store I walk into that way I know what it is and taking it back is also easy. Buy on line at best is a big gamble and well me I do not like to gamble on much unless I know it is a sure thing. Now playing poker on the other hand at least back when I was in the navy I was good at it and cannot remember ever walking away form the table with less money then I sat down with

Plus it keeps the $$ local. And then you can look it over and make sure it is what you want. Buying on line is what is now hurting may stores and many are down sizing or going under due to the internet buying of stuff

Problem here is, nearest Walmart is 75 miles away, and it's a smaller one. Kmart closed down, the tractor dealers don't have much inventory now. Finally got a 2nd fast food place, but still, the only "restaurants" are bars that also serve food. Kinda hard to keep the money local when there's nothing here I need.

Back in the Air Force, I had a chance to buy penny stock in a new venture. I think it was QVC shopping channel, but has been a while. Anyway, I scoffed thinking, who in their right mind would shell out money for something they couldn't see, touch or know the quality of? Oh, if only I had sank my $$ into that at the time!!

To each there own but in my opinion it is not always true what you say about looking it over first.

I was at a Walmart 4 years ago and wanted to buy a folding knife for my son for Christmas.

I asked the clerk at the sporting goods counter to open one up so I could look at it.
I was told if I wanted to look at it out of the package I would have to purchase it first and if I was not happy with it I could then return it.

Did not buy the knife and have not set foot in a Walmart since.

Lots of great deals on the internet, I do not have to put up with B.S.
Do not waste half a day plus fuel to go to town and usually get what I am shopping for delivered to the post office for less than the store charges.

Is there a local store that sells Flo-n-go?

I too like to buy locally, but 99% of what I want, the stores don't carry.

Sometimes they look at me say WHAT?

Ebay and amazon seem to be my go to store. Guess I should have checked out amazon.

The problem is hardly any place stocks anything decent anymore. I will spend a morning driving around to stores only to come home with a substitute or nothing. My experience lately has been when you shop locally you get what they HAVE but when you buy on-line you get what you WANT.

Places like Bass Pro or others sell them.
Also places like Pep Boys should have them.
Even if you have to order it online at least you have a brick building to return it to if it does not work.

The problem is not that you bought it off the internet.
The problem is you did not buy it from a reputable online seller like northern tools.
If it did not work as advertised a big name seller would have replaced it at no cost to you.
Or you can keep taking your chances with small flee bay sellers.

I use no-spill fuel cans. If you have the tube inserted well into whats being fueled it shuts off when full. Just release the button before pulling tube out. Best fuel cans I've used so far. The fill valve gets the vent air in the same tube that fuel comes out of. Tube in a tube. So when fuel covers the end it shuts air off and fuel flow stops. They are expensive but they work.

John,
Guess what? I bought it from Northern tool. They got back to me. Asked if I wanted a refund. I told them I would like it to have one that worked as described.
Hoping it all works out.

BTY, no bass pro or pep boys in my town.

Sometimes I use amazon prime. I love their movies
more than what amazon sells. Love amazon fire stick.
Talk to it and up pops the movie. Really neat and
fast. I use amazon and ebay to find the things I
can't find in town.

RMinVa -- That's a nice gas can!! Geo better check that out!

john in la -- I just bought a 17 cu' lawn trailer off of Amazon, sold by Northern Tools. They're sending it out via Yellow Truck Lines. It actually cost me less to buy from Northern via Amazon than if I had gone to Northern's website or called them. Figure THAT one out!!

Along with most others here I can't stand those new cans. I have two Eagles. They work so nicely that I can't understand how they can still sell them.

That's why I do some buying from Amazon, they put two fulfillment centers in my area and a data center. Keepin' it local!

I will stick with my old Chilton gas cans.

D beatty -- those are my favorite cans also. However, the screw ring that holds the spout/cap on has gotten brittle over the years. Finally found a replacement spout that will fit those cans. Much less costly than buying a new can! But you also have to buy an adapter, as the replacement spouts were made mostly for other brands. Spout and adapter both great quality and made by same Mfgr.

Hmm...prices are higher than what I paid a couple of years ago. I think I ordered directly from the manufacturer also, and that helped out with shipping costs or something. Anyway, we have a fiberglass topper (like a toneau) on our truck, so had to get the caps for hauling the cans. These -- do -- not -- leak!!

Have three 5gal and three 2.5gal. Oldest about 7 years. Can hold cans in position to fill tanks and not a drop comes out till the button is
pressed. They also sell a clear tube extension that's flexible. I haven't bought one of those but would be nice for filling a truck or car.
The last one I bought has a strainer in the fill hole that works both for filling at the gas pump and when filling gas tanks. Also has a cap
to keep on spout when not in use to keep dust and bugs out. Again they are expensive but they work as advertised. I haven't seen another
brand that comes close yet. May be one out there but I haven't seen it.

Leaking is not the issue here. Geo can't seem to put gas in his Kawasaki Mule without overfilling and pouring gas all over the floor.

A No-Spill brand gas can doesn't have auto shutoff either.

IIRC you're working in the dark, which is why you can't see when the tank is full. How about a light?
