Need tool for mixing roof coating etc

So when ever you buy roof coating or other such things it needs to be mixed up. With paint I used an old egg beater in a drill and that worked well but that is also a gallon bucket but roof coating is a 5 gallon bucket so that will not work well. So anybody have any ideas of something i could weld up for mixing this stuff up real good. I would be using a 1.2 inch drill so it will have a good bit pf power for the job.
Thanks

Rich, I have just taken a smooth steel 3/8 or 1/2 rod and put a U shape on the bottom. You can use it at an angle in the 5 gallon bucket and it will bring stuff from the bottom up to the top.
Lowes and HD have a good tool for that also.

Do you have a picture of it?? So I could maybe make one. Nearest Lowes is a good 25 miles from me and I would like to get this done today since they say it will rain Wednesday night

Watch out using those drill mixer attachments, you can fry your drill quickly. I burned one up mixing floor adhesive last year. My 10 amp drill handled it ok though.

My Fellow Missourian Old, I made one a couple weeks ago. I used a 3/8 cold rolled round but hot rolled would also work fine. I made a couple little "propellers" out of 1/4 x 1 flat/ had rather had 3/16 but had none. I cut the flat bar 3.5 inches long and gave each of them about a 20 degree twist in opposite directions. I drilled a 3/8 hole in the center of each and welded them to the rod. I placed one to pull the material from the bottom of the bucket and the other one about 8 inched above the first one in a direction to pull the material down. Worked well. Note I was at Osage Beach Tan-Ta-Tara from Thursday until Sunday at Lions State Convention. If I would have been driving and no high water I would have dropped in. Lemme say that over I would have dropped in to see you, not dropped in the lake

Kind of a square hoop on a rod

That means you where about 15 miles from where I am. My driveway needs a bit of work right now and I am having to wait til lit drys up some before I can do much or I'll make it worse. Last Thursday up till around 2PM I could not get out of my driveway due to having 6 plus inches of water running down it. Ya I might have been able t odrive my truck but I didn't need to go any place

I did call the local lumber yard and they said they had 3 different ones so for $17 I figured it would cost me less then making one

The drill I will be using is an older Dewalt and is a heavy duty one so it should work just fine

Our local hardware store had them years ago, probably still does. Mudslinger was the brand name of the big one for mixing tar, and we also have a smaller one for paint. They're very fast and handy.

Hello old,

Just make one. Mine is a piece of 1/2" rod. I used three 3" screws and some wire to make it stir more. 1/2 drill at 500 R.P.M.'s. here is the picture,

I wish I had one last year when I got the alum. roof coating for the shed. It was all settled to the bottom. I used the Armstrong method ! Took awhile but got it done.

I have a couple I have made for driveway sealer and/or small batches of concrete. I take a piece of 3/8 round stock about 32 inches long and weld 2 large (1 1/2) flat washers on the end pitched like a propeller. The reason for using flat washers is they do not scratch up the inside of the bucket.

You can buy a mixer used for drywall. Many different designs. I use my old right angle drill to power it at 300 RPM's. Use feet to keep bucket from spinning.

Hello old

Here is another one. 1/4" rod twisted at one end. I know you can make one!

Go to TSC and buy a couple steel .99 cent electric fence post and cut them to the length you need. Its what I been using for years. As a matter of fact I used one last year in the roof coating for my RV.

on't worry about it...he has been "talking" the problem for 9 hours! Even a 3 year old could have it stirred by now!

Not every is costly around the lake. Ya thing to do with the lake are but things tools and parts are the same price as they are any place else. Now things like hotels and renting boat ya that will cost you big time
