Hey guys! So now that some of my angle grinders have racked the hours, Im wanting to open up the fronts of them and regrease as needed.

Anyone know what kind of grease is perferred for something like this? Theyre mainly 5" models spinning 11-13k iirc. Thanks everyone!

The stuff I use is shaft grease made by STIHL for trimmers. Has good sticky consistency and doesn't liquefy with high heat, never had a problem with it.

i second the stihl weed wacker gearbox grease. any stihl dealer has it, comes in a tube like a toothpaste tube.

I use white wheel bearing grease in mine. I always just realised My newest grinder is 25 years old. Lol They are getting pretty tough lookin tho.

Go to a Stihl dealer and get a tube of the lube they sell for straight shaft trimmers. That's what I have been using in my grinders for many years now.

I also think the Stihl trimmer grease is good to use.
You can also do a quick test and put several dabs of grease on a flat bar, use the stihl as the control since we know it is used in high speed gear applications hit the back with a flame and see which one starts to run... post a video :)
