130 volts???

Just the other day I looked at something,(don't remember what) but I had the choice between 120v. and 130v. I can't recall ever see'in 130v. bfore....Please school me..Thanks Craig

If it was incandescent bulbs they will last a lot longer, but be very inefficient. A LED would be a much better choice unless you want it for heat, and then you never really know how long they will last.

probably light bulbs, I usually use 130 volt for longer life, they tell me design voltage of 120 is 117 plus or minus 5 % my usual when tested during off peak times is 122 -123 volts resulting in short life of 120 volt bulbs. leroy

To Barnyard, if I could remember what I looked at I would've said.....It's just I have never seen anything marked different between 120 and 130.

I have an industrial grade voltmeter on my service entrance (just for the fun of it) - and it typically peaks at 127 during the day.

I've had some experience with those 130 volt bulbs. If you have a 60 watt, 120 volt bulb in a lamp, you would need a 75 watt, 130 volt bulb to give the same amount of light, and then it would still be sort of yellowish.
