It was giving to me today. Never seen anything like it. I will see if I can get it running.

They're not tremendously uncommon, though they're certainly not seen a lot nowadays--pretty much the gas version of what ended up being the Sawzall in electrical tools. Lots of Youtube vids on them--there were several different models over the years. Chain Saw Collector's Corner (linked below) also has info on them that might be useful

Well, it will saw weather it runs or not. It will just take a bit longer because you have to push and pull it across the log if it doesn't run.
There were a few around here also.

My neighbor has a bunch of those, all
running, and then also bought a box full of
NOS blades for then at an auction for a
little bit of nothing. The NOS blades have a
bunch of different tooth designs and tooth
pitches for different kind of wood cutting
I'm assuming.

As far as chainsaws go it has to be a real blind dead end. I have a
pretty nice size collection of saws but don't have a Wright. Had been
offerd a couple but just didn't want one. As was said they amount to a
Sawzall. They don't cut very fast and they are something like that
joke about the old timmer who takes the chainsaw back and didnt know
to pull the starter rope. I know one guy who used one to cut up
frozen deer meat when it was hanging outdoors. Have fun with it. Real
wall hanger.

I don't think I would ever use it to cut a tree down or cut one up. It is something interesting that was before my time.

Very slow cutting, very rough running. Other than getting it running for the challenge of it, don't waste your time trying to use it.

I'm pretty sure the best place to use the saw would be to hang it on the wall of one of those outdoorsy type of restaurants and have people look at it.

I've got one I picked up years ago lying in the back room of the shop. One of these days I'll get around to getting it running. Then I'll need to find a blade that's not broken.

Strange inventions occur during transitions. Like this one from the two man cross cut saw to the chain saw.
