eI have watched U-Tube demonstrations on how to wire the fixture getting rid of the ballast and I see TWO radically different ways. One person only wires one end of the bulb with hot and neutral and no wires to the other end. The other person wires hot to one end of the tube and the neutral to the other end? Which is correct or both correct.

I have done several like hanovertom but I read that some manufactures are different so you do have to follow directions.

As the others have already said there's no "industry standard".

There's all sorts of LED replacement lamps from the "land of almost right" and you need to follow the instructions that came with the lamp as to how to wire it.

Problem I see is when it eventually fails will someone know which "style" of connections it has and replace it with the same type.

On the upside, though, it's refreshing that you want to eliminate the ballast.

Do not rewire the fixture to eliminate the ballast. When you rewire the fixture to run line voltage to the sockets you are violating the UL label due to the higher current that flows through the sockets to the lamps. This becomes a fire hazard as the sockets could overheat. Most LED retrofit lamps operate with the ballast remaining.
