Heres the deal, every year I but a small 12' swimming pool for the grand-kids, they drag to dogs and whatever else in with them, the liners never last past the 1st month. I have a new 8' by 2.5' galvanized steel stock tank and thinking of using it as a indestructible pool for the grand kids, only question I have is being galvanized will it be ok to use chlorine or maybe salt water I will need to use something or the water will turn green overnight.

Used chlorine water in a 6' one for a few years - kids enjoyed it, Labs enjoyed it. They all grew up ok.

We have used one for years, just added bleach and when it got to dirty drained and refilled. I been known to plop into it after a hot day and drink a cold one myself. We also painted the inside white to brighten it up.

Coat it with bed liner material to protect the galv. coating from the chlorine. Keep in mind this will make it much heavier as well. Might also consider something like a spray-on rubber as it would be softer, but more difficult to clean green stuff off of.

They show up on CL every fall around here. We used one for a tire dunk tank for twenty years before it rusted out.

Thanks, guess you learn something everyday, if it keeps the water clear in the summer I will give it a try
