Good LED Worklight

I needed a bright worklight for my shop. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to overhead lighting. I don't do much out there outside of daylight hours. So I've stuck with 150-watt incadescent bulbs on the ceiling and just use worklights where needed.

Last night I bought a 3500-lumens worklight. Wow that thing is as bright as the sun and uses just 40 watts. Was just $49 at Home Depot.
 
I'm sold on LED lighting only if it the bright white, 5000K. Anything less is
yellow and dimmer.
 
We just bought a bunch of LED's, love them! Put them in the garage at the cabin where it's -9F right now and almost as cold
inside, and they come right on and bright. I agree, buy the higher K number. I still like to have a CFL in the bathroom for
the middle of the night, LED's are like flashbulbs!
 
Ya LED prices seem to be dropping. Next year this same light may be only 1/2 as much. They are bright as heck. I wanted the 5000, was $89.
 
Go along with you I I like the white. I have several that have that yellow cast and put them where I don;t need a bright light.
 
Have you tried the LED night lights with photo cell ? We have them in bathroom and hall way and they give off enough lightt to get around. The LED night light uses 1 1/2-2 watts but gives off more light than old style night lights and is not a yellow light.
 
This 3500-lumens is nuclear blast white. If I even glance at it for a second I cannot see anything for a few minutes. lol
 
I noticed a couple weeks ago that Costco had a variety of LED shop lights on the shelf. They have one the will replace the 4ft. fluorescent fixtures.
 
I put a bunch of the Costco LED lights in SWMBO's horse barn. They come on instantly no matter what the temperature is. So far they have lasted longer than the fluorescent bulbs/fixtures they replaced.

Watch for sales. At Thanksgiving Menards was selling a 4 foot 3400 lumen LED shop light for $20. Last summer Lowes had a similar one for $40 regular price.

Actually, the 5000K lights are "Daylight". Bright White is ~3500-4000K.

My apologies. I wasn't saying they were brighter. You were calling the 5000K lights "bright white" when in fact they are "daylight" bulbs. The brightest lights are the 5000K lights which have the same color as daylight. The lights which manufacturers call "bright white" and not as bright or as white as the daylight bulbs. Ironic, eh? :)
 
Before anyone buys anything, most stores have a light display. You can see the lights working and decide for yourself.

I don't like yellow lights, I want bright lights.

I bought 4 ft leds 5000k off amazon and they are so bright, I need sunglasses.

Menards sells 4000k 4 ft leds. They had them on display and I wouldn't have them, dimmer and yellow.
