I needed a 9/16" fine thread chaser to clean up the threads on the hubs of a John Deere 953 running gear I am working on. Looked on line and discovered they only come in sets but I only needed one so I made one. This is not an original idea as I saw the tip on a web site. Thought maybe someone might benefit from my experiment. I cut 4 slots in one of the lug bolts with my dremel tool. The slots store the crud as the bolt is turned into the hub threads. It worked slick. A few times I had to back out the thread chaser and clean the slots then screw it back in until the the treads were clean. Sorry I couldn't get closer with my camera. My really up close photos were fuzzy. I have a lot to learn about focal length.
