Found these sockets in an old machinery shed. What are they for?

They are used for brass or steel 90? elbow hydraulic fittings. They slide over the back side of the fitting while the other side of the fitting sticks out of the socket opening.

Thank you for the replies. Its good to know what they are for. Doesn't seem like something you use too often but I will put them in the socket drawer none the less.

Neat! There used to be times I wish I had something like that. Especially when I had squeezed a fitting enough that it was unusable. But then, maybe a socket wouldn't have gotten in where I needed to be!

Mac WAS good stuff, nowadays it's pretty much same Stanley tools you can buy in Wal-Mart, not bad tools but not as far above others as they once were.

You can add Matco and Snap-on blue point line to that mix. I would like to have a set of those sockets not that I need them but I can see were they could be useful.

Don't care, retired almost four years ago, got a tool box full of the good stuff in the garage, Snap On , Mac, a few Matco and Craftsman. Have no plans to buy anymore.
