Yah...if you left it rough it looked ok, that primer color didn't look right...now the red is ok again.

I might of painted the vice gray but I like the red, you must of finally run out of blue, huh?

I didnt have any blue,,but shop tools kinda should be red anyway?,,,I think,,,lol

It was for a big grinder,,had a big box with an on off button on it,i took it off

Gray works but Rust-Oleum Verde Green looks good on a vise.

FloldFord, I use an old torque tube off of an old Farmall cub for a grinder stand works great.

Looks good Larry, besides you're less likely to hit it with the Tractor. Don't want to get any Red paint smears on that pretty Blue Tractor.

The stand and vise should be different colors--doesn't matter which ones. I would leave the stand red, however. Right now the effect is "monochromatic" as they say in art circles//no contrast between the nice tool up top and the stand. My 2 cents worth
Either way, the vise will do what you need, no matter the color.

Are you going to anchor the base or leave it portable? The reason I ask is because I have my big vise bolted to a 6' steel bench with a few hundred pounds of spare (scrap) steel on the bottom shelf an I still occasionally move the bench trying to bend things.
