grass and weed killer

What is a economical grass and weed killer that I can use in a 15 gallon powered sprayer. Roundup doesn't seem to work as well as it used to in some areas and I would like to have a full season die back.

Pramitol works well and will last well over a year. A 2.5 gal jug at rural king is around 85 bucks.

i have used roundup brand and round up generic brand.the only difference i see is the roundup brand starts killing the weeds quicker than the generic.but within about six to seven weeks the weeds are coming back so i hit em again.usually three times during the summer.this is along fence rows.

Tractor Supply sells FarmWorks Grass & Weed Killer 41% Glyphosate Concentrate , 2-1/2 gal. SKU #104430599 for $54.00. Sometimes you can catch it on sale. It's the same stuff that is in RoundUp only way less expensive. I bought some a couple years ago and still have half a container. 2 1/2 gallons of concentrate makes a LOT of weed killer.

Round up or other Glyphosate based herbicides are only effective on growing plants. The chemical does nothing for plants that are dormant or have not emerged or germinated yet. Most of the chemical is absorbed through the plants foliage or leaves, not through the roots unless you really soak the ground.

Pay attention to the glyphosate concentration as some of the products or brands that are cheaper have less chemical concentration . I think the maximum strength is 41%, shop for the generic or cheaper brands, one was mentioned above. Also it sounds like you need to look for products that advertise "extended control" or something to the effect of all season or year long control. These products will include other chemicals to prolong treatment.

Add 10% Dicamba to your Roundup mixture,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dicamba

It increases plant growth while Roundup encourages the plant to stop feeding itself . For very little extra cost you can increase the effectiveness of Roundup tenfold .

I have found that "Barrier" works very well on a graveled driveway. Mix according to instructions, and apply liberally. Apply enough to make the ground visibly wet.

In Nor Cal, I spray about now and that kills everything for that year. Youz guys that get rain all summer will need a pre-emergent, something that prevents the seeds from germinating. Buy that.

Yes. Exactly what "Barrier" does. Apply in the spring and it is good all season long.
