I had a 78 c10 break pedal go to the floor and no fluid loss.I replaced the master cylinder and almost back to normal after bleeding several times.Do I need to do anything with the metering Valve? It looks like a button to push on it.

does it have a hydro-vac booster on it? There is a bleeder screw on top of it.

Might be possible this valve has to be reset. This is generic info.

If you are getting good fluid out the front and rear then NO. Never let the brake pedal go to the floor when bleeding, haft way is as far as you should go are you may damage the master cylinder.

A Combination Valve is a different animal

The trick to resetting them is to open a bleeder on the axle that's getting fluid and stab the brake pedal as hard and fast as you can with your foot to center it. (if the brake light in the dash works it will go out) It will either center are block off the good side so you can get the air out the side that has air it it. Haft stroke the pedal lightly and NEVER go to the floor when bleeding when both sides are stable it will stay centered.

No. If your pedal is high and hard you are good. If it's soft then there is still air. I always bench bleed mine before installation.
