I have a beat up old 67-72 ford 100 box with the 9 inch axle under it. Would like to make it road worthy with out spending a lot of dollars on the axle. Don't like the idea of the pinion shaft spinning around gathering grass and net wrap, waiting for that perfect moment to lock up on the highway.
I would like to keep the ford pickup bolt pattern because I must have ten or fifteen extra wheels. One spare could serve both puller and trailer.
What can I do with the existing housing and axle shafts to use them, I am trying to come up with an inboard bearing but can't visualize a way to make it work.
These axles are old enough they use the sealed bearing on the shaft.
Thanks Tom
