What would a 55 gallon barrel of concrete weigh??

David said it very nicely but I was going to say more than you can beleive. What is neat is when someone posts a picture of home made cement weights for a tractor. Not as much weight as cast but a lot cheaper.

Mine took 1000 lbs of bag concrete mix, 3 or 4 football sized rocks (I was running out of bag mix) plus the steel and plastic barrel weight. So yeah, right at 1100 lbs. About 2 inches from the top. My 3600 Ford has no problem lifting it.

OK, the math, concrete weighs about 150 lb / cu ft * .1334 cu ft/ gal * 55 gal = 1100 lb

Just make sure units cancel and you are there.

Yepper and it doesn't lie....if you punch the right buttons. Facts are facts. I grew up "counting the little marks" on a ruler while playing with my toy trucks in the sand pile. I later learned that there IS a better way.
