What brand of portable band saw (44 7/8") blades have you had best service. My stock of "Capewell" Bimetal B4418 is getting low & don't thing Capewell blades can still be purchased.Thanks.

jack,
Coldwell bearing in Terre Haute can make you bandsaw blades, different sizes, different number of teeth and cut different materials too.

If all else fails and you can't get blades, google Coldwell, they have a web site.

If you are getting good blade life on a portaband that means you know how to correctly use it and you have the right number of teeth per inch on the bands you are currently using thus any of the quality brands will also give you good service. Lennox, Starrett and Morse are all good blades. I use Starret most of the time and get them from JTS Machinery in Cleveland.

I like lennox blades. I torture tested some in a reciprocating saw a few years back. Still can't believe how well it keep cutting ! I was sawing a chunk of a semi truck frame (tough stuff) off to make something else out of it. Sparks were flying and blade was turning blue but keep on cutting ! Before that cutting sheet metal truck body it was not ridged other blades would jamb up and get broken off. Lennox ones would just get bent. Straighten it out best you could and keep cutting again.
