I have gone about as far as I can go on this project until warm weather. Got the top gussets fabed and welded in, and welded caps on ends of the cross tube, and fabed up the bottom clamp brackets. The main frame is done. Sure whish I had taller ceilings and a higher overhead door, or I need to revert back to smaller tractors. HeHe.
After the new year, I will send a detailed drawing to my steel supplier and have them bend a roof for me. It will be formed from a 16G sheet of 5'Wx5'6"L steel. It will have radiused curves for the sides that protrude down, and the sides will taper in width from front to back. The front will also be 2" narrower than the rear. There will also be front and rear panels welded in vertically between the sides to accomidate oval amber lights on all 4 corners. The roof will overhang the frame nicely on sides and also front and rear, and have a formed drip edge. The OA dimensions of the roof support frame is 38.5"Wx 55'L just to put things into perspective.
The support structure will be painted Case Power Red, and the roof will be painted Case Desert Sunset.
I dug out some sound deadening material from my stash, and I will order some 1" thick Cab liner material from Speer Cuishion and fit both within the support frame. Still plan on applying under coat or bed liner on the under side of the roof outside the support frame. Case used that method on their factory ROPS structures that wern't padded to curb noise.
Hope 2017 will be good for everyone.
