Battery leaf blower

I don't like being tied to cord on electric blower. Don't like mixing gas in a gas one. I am wanting how folks like the battery ones. Is that battery short lived and cost nearly as much as a new blower?

I can't really say how good a cordless leaf blower is, because I don't have one.

I can say that all cordless tool sooner or later will have dead batteries. When battery goes bad, sometimes it damages the charger. Then the cost of replacing the battery and charger is almost the same as buying everything new.

A neighbor has 36v dewalt tools. One replacement battery is around $150. He needs two. Not worth it for him to buy batteries.

All cordless tools I have uses an 18v dewalt battery. Over the past 20 years I've bought my share of replacement batteries, Ni-Cd, Ni-Mh and Li-ions. Even upgraded chargers to the newer one that can charger all 3 types of batteries.

Bottom line. Batteries don't last forever. In some cases replacement batteries are no longer available or it too expensive to replace them.

I'm lucky that the 18v dewalt battery is still around and at a fair price.

HD had a online special last spring. I got the Leaf blower, and the String trimmer, 40 volt by Ryobi. 120 dollars and free shipping. I wouldn't sell them for twice that. I've cleaned the snow of the porch, stairs and around the doors 4 -5 times so fare. Get those hard to shovel places squeaky clean.
The trimmer lasts until your back cries :Uncle".

Dewalt has a nice blower for their 20volt lineup. At least the batteries would be universal to the rest of your tools. They have a weedwhacker
for the same lineup I was thinking would be nice in case the wife would want to help.

I have 2 - 20 volt B&D Lithiums and 80 volt, use the 20 v on hard surfaces and in shop, like the box says (for hard surface only)
They don't have to power to do much in the yard. The Greenworks 80 volt will keep up with any gas blower but it only last 10
minutes per charge, If you don't mind buying a expensive 2nd battery this blower will do the job on anything. I Had 40 volt and it
was ok for most leaves but pin oak and other hard to blow leaves require the 80 volt force.
