I got an ad for these -35 degree socks in my email. Supposed to be made with aluminum fibers. 3 pair for $20. Has anybody tried them? Are they any good? I always have cold feet.
(quoted from post at 09:07:18 12/22/16) OK, guys. A couple of you wanted to know about these socks, too, but it seems nobody has tried them. I have also had Sorels for more that 40 years. recent pair (about 15 years) are the super arctic ones but they're not as good as the old green ones I always had and they're much bulkier. The felt liners look good but it's an artificial felt and not as warm. It doesn't fluff up like real felt when I wash them. The new Sorels are junk. I agree, wool socks are the best. Guess I won't bother with the "aluminum" socks.

I wore a pair of Sorel pak boots for forty years. They always kept my feet warm. When I got new boots I kept the Sorels and ended up going back to them twice. Two years ago I finally got another pair of Sorels. They aren't like the old ones but they still work. If you want to stay warm all you need to do is take the liners out overnight so that the moisture can dry out.
(quoted from post at 13:51:40 12/22/16) Absolute best boots I ever bought were Military surplus, they are not the air filled mickey mouse boots, but are similar and have about 1/2" wool liner in between the inner and outer layer rubber. Feet never get cold in them, and they were cheap....

I agree. I went through 3 or 4 pair pf Sorels back in the 70's and early 80's. They were different than what you get now, lots better.
