Welding stainless

Attaching no stick stainless to mild steel. Tried before with not so much success gas shielded wire. Havent tried stick.

Crown alloys 220-m
It is made for dissimilar metals.
I have used it many times on many different applications.

What was limiting your success, what was it not doing so well? Also what gas you using?

Think was co2/argon. Mix percentage ?

Shaun,It should weld stainless quite well with 25/75 CO2 Argon mix.I have used it often.

I have no idea what would work with shielded wire,my customers use helium tri mix for light SS, and 98% argon 2% Co2 for heaver welds.

I went and sifted thru material pile and found some tubing that was magnetic. Stick it together tomorrow.

Lincoln Excalibur 309/309L-15 SMAW All Position

Works good, welded Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter to a Mild Steel bracket on a small Puckett Bros. Motorgrader.
