roundup brush killer

I read an article in the Wall Street Journal about a class action lawsuit concerning roundup causing cancer. Roundup is still on the market here in Kentucky
and the article said there was no proof of carcinogens. What are your thoughts? I know, thunder curdles milk also, and everything causes cancer. Ellis

It is such a simple chemical compound that it is amazing what it can do to some plants. I have a neighbor who asked our rural water board not to allow its workers to spray it anywhere on his land. He's convinced it can cause cancer. I still use it whenever I need to, but I usually put it off as long as possible. I try to use all herbicides safely and responsibly.

I will reserve judgement as I have not seen proof one way or the other. That does not stop people from filing lawsuits, as you can sue anyone over anything. You don't even need proof, you simply need to find a suitably bleeding-heart jury, tug on their emotions with a good sob story, and mention Monsanto.

Saw the lawyer ads on tv for that, ambulance shyster lawyers.

There is nothing to it, so seems a pointless deal?

Roundup is, after 20-30 years, safer for us and the environment than what it replaced, so seems like an extreme environmentalist ploy?

The law firm of Doowee, Cheatem and How is always filling class action law suit. That doesn't mean roundup causes cancer. BYW roundup is a grass killer. Need to use crossbow to kill brush.

Roundup doesn't work on all brush. Crossbow is called a brush killer . It contains 2 4 D and another chemical

Yesterday I heard one of those commercials on the radio, from an ambulance chasing law firm. They even threw in the clause "or if you've been near a farm where it was being sprayed"

Yup. I've got some running vines here that are really invasive and spread fast. Round Up doesn't do a thing to it except maybe encourage it to grow faster.

Crossbow kills it deader than a hammer.

Local auction company puts up the upcoming sales on there website showing what is for sale and often they include a short write up about the sellers and their farming operation.
A couple of years back out of 20+ listings 9 sales were being held for the widows of grain farmers that had lost the battle with cancer.
By no means a scientific study but something to think about.

I saw a recent study that said Roundup was not found to cause cancer. I have used a small amount of Roundup over the years, and I have Lymphoma, but I blame it on working in coal-fired industry for 40 years. We use a 50-50 solution of Roundup on stumps, seems to work well. I was told Tordon will kill other plants nearby, so I won't use it.

On light brush and poison ivy,I cut a limb/vine with a corn knife, and spray with a double mixture of Round Up(old directions on an old bottle) Works pretty good.

Years ago I bought a product that was listed as Grazeon P+D (I think it was Grazeon but the rest is for sure) which had the 24D but included
the P which was a chemical specifically for brush. It worked.

I had what appeared to be a terminal case of Lymphoma, diagnosed back in Feb 2013. Started Chemo in March and 6 sessions were finished in September. Chemo is not the "monster" it's claimed to be, not for me anyway. It was not a hindrance to my daily life for the most part. What was really nice was that the gastrointestinal excruciating pain that I had been living with 80% disappeared 3 days after the first treatment....couldn't believe that. Hospital that treated me was 25 miles down the road (Texan Oncology)....whaddda deal. Been clean ever since and just finished my semi-annual checkup. I attribute mine to my past profession and bad habits. What's funny is that I wouldn't trade either for the world. At the time they were just right for me. And now, at this stage in life, they aren't for me. But that's ok-fine!
