Would like to talk to you some more about this Kitchenaid dishwasher repair--per your comments last month. Been handwashing the dishes and circling this old dishwasher repair or buy a new one. Finally located chopper with screen and the sump check valve (recommended)....$ 76.00 and no guarantee that I have the smarts..... Maybe time for a new one anyway. Sure has been a good performer. It appears that the chopper drive coupling has one or two "dogs" worn off some, so this may have been inoperative for some time, but no unusual noise I cannot see very well in the "hole" where the drive shaft lurks to determine if the drive cogs(ears) are worn out...so putting in new chopper might be excercise in exercising.
