Power King trailer tires.

I have been looking at 7:50-16 Power King Super Highway Trailer 10ply tires. Has anyone used them and are they a good tire ? thanks, need 4 for a trailer

They'll be black round and hold air when new. More than likely they're Chinese. They will likely last as long as a goodyear. Some of the Asian tires aren't actually a new tire, just a recovered old one. Double coin, linglong et al..trailer tires really don't seem to live charmed lives, so run what ya can afford/feel comfortable with

Power Kings are(or were anyway) great tires, mine last set has been on the trailer for at least 15 years. It really is time to replace them because of age. We used to sell a lot of them.

Steve,
I'm going to need trailer tires too, so keep us posted what you find.

I'm thinking you can't get a warranty on trailer tires. Find out if that is correct.

Perhaps the best you can get is road hazard from dealer.

I"ll have to check my trash pile...Power King sounds familiar...3 out of 4 tires did not last a year on an occasional use trailer. Since they were on a trailer, there was not warranty.

Be careful. There is a brand, made in China, and marked "for trailer use only". They look like good tires until mounted and inflated, and then they are no longer round.

Steve. I sold hundreds of Power King trailer tires over the years. We never had any more or Less trouble with them than other brands. Back problems forced me out of the tire business 11 years ago. They were still made in USA then. I haven't seen 1 since I left the business. I agree with some of the other guys, buy 10 ply or heavyer. We always balanced all trailer tires.

Which Hi-Run tires are you talking about and what age and kind of usage caused your problems? I just put sets of 6 ply trailer only tires on 2 occasional usage trailers and so far-so good. They feel like good tires with plenty of plasticizers to prevent weather cracking....nice and slick rubber. WW sells them online.

Specialty Tire of America Super Transports.

Have a set has been on our water wagon for nearly 15 years now. Dad does keep it inside, Carries 1000 gallons of water plus weight of wagon, puts about 50 miles (average 25 miles loaded, 25 miles empty) on it every 7-10 days all year long, and has for the last 15 years.. Granted, he don't pull it at highway speed, just on our gravel back roads. Would say the tread is still 50-75%

We've had a few flats over the years picking up nails and such, but ruined first one this summer.. rubbed sidewall against something and cut it.

A quick online search says they aren't cheap, but if they are still as good as they were, I'd not hesitate to do it again.
