There was talk on here lately about trouble light bulbs. I can still get the heavy duty ones from my local auto supply. This evening I bought 60W equivalent daylight LED for $4.90, down from about $9. Does that sound right? I tried it in my trouble light and liked it.

Yes that's about right, Lowe's has a 3-pack for $10.68 that puts the price at $3.56 each. LEDs are getting cheaper. The savings on your electric bill pay for the bulbs in just a short time.

I bought a four pack of led, 60 watt equivalent bulbs, at an ace hardware for 2 bucks. Cheapest i have ever seen.

Another nice thing about LED bulbs is you will not get the %##=4^&= burned out of your arm when you are trying to hold something up. Man that metal holder can get hot!

Bob,

Once, I'd asked my darling to get a rough service bulb for my trouble-light.

She'd called me back and asked what a rough-surface bulb was...

Go figure.

D.

I have 2 "leds" and they screw into both of my trouble lights.
From experience they will do a lot better than the old fashion bulb.

Oh yeah! The old "branding iron"! LOL

Nothing better than being wedged up under the dash, have it fall on your face, and no amount of wiggling and twisting will get it off of you!

Back in the day, (when LED was the first name of a rock band), had the drop light under a car, process of pulling the engine. Went to pull it out, the usual bodily fluids were splattering all over the floor... Water hit the light, the bulb blew, which set the gas on fire! Now that will get your attention!

And I just last night replaced the tough little CFL bulbs in both my shop trouble lights with 800 lumen , 60 watt equivalent LED bulbs from Walmart that cost me $1.49 each. The Cfl's are tough, cool running little buggers, but a bit slow to get bright in cold weather. The LED's are bright instantly at any temp and now being under a buck fifty each from Walmart or Menards, there is no excuse mot to use them.

Watch out buying the cheap Walmart LED bulbs they don't hold up. I bought 4 LED's for house from Walmart and 4 from hardware store (cost a lot more) and in less than 2 years all 4 of the Walmart bulbs are gone.

This was Tuesdays Pluggers comic. fits right in. I'm not that old yet, am I?

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968

A light-emitting diode (LED) Oleg Losev reported creation of the first LED in 1927

Yeah, they are getting cheaper and cheaper. As kevinstuff indicates, the lower Kelvin, 2800, burns more like an incandescent and easier on the eyes for the home imo than the bluish higher Kelvin bulbs.

Sounds high to me. I just bought a 10 pack of 100W equivalent non-dimmable LED bulbs for $25 from Costo. Actually bought 4 packs for the barns and garage. The had 10 packs of 60W equivalents for $15.
