Recommend me a mini-bearing puller

I need to be able to pull bearings off power tool motor shafts. Everything I have is too big. Most cases, I'm lucky to have 1/8 of an inch under the bearing to get hold of. Bearing diameters of 1/2" and less in some cases.

look at pilot bearing pullers. i have one that you can reverse the jaws on and it gets into small places pretty good. i think mine is old snap on. here a link with a pic

In the past I have used a two jaw puller designed to pull battery clamps from the post. Mine is a Blue Point from Snap-on, probably 50 years old. Have seen similar ones at NAPA. Good luck!

Had a puller exactly like that. Useless.

I've ordered a little more robust version with positive side-to-side clamping and wider "feet" to get under the bearing.

A knife edge puller also called bearing seperator or slang "cheese cutter" Fasten this under the bearing and then install in press and push the shaft out of the bearing.

A viable option, if I can find one small enough. This bearing is about 5/8" in diamter on a 1/4 inch shaft (actual dimensions are metric).

The off brand battery terminal pullers are not that good. Snap-on used to make the only one worth a damn. I don't know if they still do, it's been 20 years since I've needed one. If you don't need to reuse it I cut the bearings with a dremel using a fiber wheel. Make the cuts to split the outer race remove the ball cage and cut the inner race parallel to the shaft. Wedge the cut with a small screwdriver and the inner race slips right off. Any nicks on the shaft only matter if a seal rides there. HTH, Mike

Even a large one can close to 1/4" opening. You can even put a jaw puller behind onto the bearing separator. I use my modified harbor freight press with mine. I use 2 heavy channel irons for the lower press table (not sure exact term) That way I can open it up and stick wider stuff in it.
