There is a first time for everything..

Wife complained that she didn't like her Kitchen Aid hand crank can opener; it was too hard to penetrate the can and turned too hard.

I got out my needle file set and sharpened the cutting wheel. It penetrates a can easier now, but still turns hard. The drive wheel shaft rubs on a rubber collar that is putting too much drag on the drive shaft. I put salad oil on it, but doubt that it penetrates enough to lube the rubber collar. Maybe it will wear in with more use.

Anyway, it was the first time that I ever sharpened the cutting wheel on a can opener. Couldn't see any way that I could chuck it in a drill and spin it until it loosens up.

The wife's step mother tore ours up yesterday. She was trying to open one of those big industrial sized cans of beans. Apparently they aren't made to open a can with that kind of a curve. It started grinding the gears and slipping and the dim wit kept right on holding it down. I threatened to take them out to the shop and use the air die grinder on them before we got all four of them open.

My wife went through a few of those electric can openers. No matter what the price was, they all chewed the drive gear up real fast Can't open a can with a smooth drive gear. She declared no more electric openers, so now she has two hand openers.

FWIW, we have one of the hand crank Kuhn Rikon safety can openers (you can use those words in ebay, lots of sellers), and it works really slick and easy on steel cans. I don't know how well it would work on the very large commercial cans but it is our go-to for anything we get (up to juice can size). A plus is that the cut-off lid can then be used as a lid to cover the opened can if you don't use all the contents at once. It's not perfect - for some reason, it's much harder to use on aluminum cans (like cat food cans).

The wife bought some funky thing at Wally World that I love. It cuts into the lid on the side lip so there is no sharp edge. It works slick and is easy to crank. My hands aren't so good anymore.

You're talking a number 10 can. My wife works in a Kitchen that opens a LOT of these daily. Her Kitchen uses an 'Edlund #1" opener. I know this as I just replaced the cutting edge. The gears are replaceable too. It mounts on the countertop so it might not be a first choice for the average person, but it WILL do the job.
