Unknown tool

Years ago I had a hand tool for smoothing concrete, a 2 x 2 inch black block, maybe 6 or 8 inches long with a series of deep grooves on the sides. It may have been carborundum, can't remember. Anyone know the name of this, or where I can get one?

Way back when... My grandfather called them "Holy Stones" and threatened to have us get on our knees and use them if he wasn't pleased with something we did. I guess Goldblatt has politically correct changed the name to "Rubbing Bricks"

Holy Stones were used by the British navy and probably others in the days of wooden ships to clean the decks.

Yup. Gramp was chief engineer on Great Lakes ore carriers. I guess he had unruly sailors holy stoning something or other.
