K-Mart going out if business

Took advantage of K-Mart going out of business sale yesterday. They had Die Hard batteries on sale for 30% off. I picked up a 340 cca garden tractor battery for $26.00 that included the core charge. Also picked up a boat seat for $20.00 that I am going to adapt to the old Sears SS16.

The one in Sweetwater closed earlier this year and now one in Abilene is closing. Too many people at Walmart so don't shop there. Target is another deal.

The last several years the quality of their clothes has been so bad, I doubt that you could get the dog to lay on them. They've been trying to sell junk at high prices to stay afloat, but it's catching up to them now.

Given the selection and quality of their inventory, K-mart should go out of business. I prefer NOT to shop at Wal-Mart if at all possible. So, I go to their competitors first when I shop. I went to K-mart one day to get some socks. Their inventory looked like flea market leftovers. I ended up at Wal-Mart anyways.

I do not understand how they chose stores to close. This summer closed one 20 mile north of me, always lots of people, The store 20 mile west of me hardly any business and keeping it open. In last 30 years have closed stores in different towns around leaving then with no other place to shop, those were before Sears. The one they closed usually had the shoes I like so when closing started I went and found 2 pair so bought them. Looking around Items in grocery section at 30% off were still 150% the price at grocery one block away. The less used store rarly has my shoes.

I thought when my local K mart went out I could get some lawn tractor and ATV batteries cheap but the whole department was so ransacked ,half the batteries had no caps left . It was a mess.

"whole department was so ransacked ,half the batteries had no caps left . It was a mess. "

Was that before or after the sale? .

Hello Gary from Muleshoe,

Mr. Wal-Mart said that he would banrupt Kmart! I guess I succeeded.......

Guido.

K-Mart and Sears both need to go. I have a customer that bought a Craftsman riding mower. Plus the extended warranty. They had A Sears rep come out and service the mower under warranty. They tell me the guy sprayed something into the intake and left.Next morning she went to mow the yard got about ten feet and the engine exploded. They called Sears and was refused warranty. Equipment abuse Sears calls it. I have a meeting with Sears in the morning. Might be interesting.Mower was fine until their man serviced it.

Last time I was in a Sears store. You could fire a shotgun and not hit anyone.

Billy,
I'm interested in the outcome of your meeting, do you have the engine apart?

All the stores will be closing in a year or two. ED Lambert a hedge fund operative just sucked all the blood (I mean $) out of the retailer. The bad bad side of capitalism.

I will finish taking it apart when the rep is there. Block is split looks like the crank shaft moved.I am going to pull the head with the guy
there.See what damage is there. I think he sprayed some decarbon fluid into the engine. He didn't start it before he left. She started it the next
morning. I know the couple that own it. They take very good care of what they have

You driven by a Walmart lately? Amazon has a long way to go.I can't see how Amazon sells a much stuff as they do as almost always there is a better price on line somewhere else.

This is true, but then crank in shipping and Amazon gets better with their Prime deal on "free" 2 day shipping. Costs $99 a year up front for Prime, so they buy a lot to make that worth it.

Then a lot of peeps don't want to spend the time looking, deal with the creepy sites that have you enter ALL your info before they'll let you know shipping costs, which can be a bunch when they use shipping as a the major profit center; $12 to send something that fits in an envelope kind of stuff.

What I do is look at Amazon, read the reviews, and then search the product on ebay and the net in general and see if I can find a better deal. I bought a endoscope to examine gun barrels, it was $40 on Amazon, Ebay was $20 delivered.

And I don't do Prime; I'll look at the alternative vendors and buy from them. Got a shoulder holster on order for $5 from FRANCE! From Amazon it was $11, had to get another $38 on the order to get "free" shipping and pay 8.5% tax on the whole thing. Frogs only wanted the $5.
