Any one have a harbour freight 20 ton shop press? How well does it work? Thinking about getting one.

I have one of the 12 ? ton older models. Have not found anything yet I could not get apart with it. I did have to modify it some as the original ram parts was cheap tubing. I made one from a solid hyd. cyl. rod. I also drilled another set of holes in the side frames to make height adjustments not so far apart. I also moved the bottom center brace to two outer ones leaving the middle open for long items. Then placing it up on solid concrete blocks gave me the right height to put JD 2 cyl. fanshafts in there. Back then IIRC they were only $100.00 well worth it.

I have a 12 tom from HF. Got it 20 years ago to do various press jobs. Been very satisfied. To date I have not found any thing I cud not press.

I had a 20 ton HF press. Didn't take long and the top channels bent upwards. Fixed that and then corner tabs on the on channels that moves up and down started bending and breaking off. fixed that and then the bottom brace welds broke away. fixed that and the jack gave out.

It's probably the same thing. I've got a 20 ton from a local place called Public Warehouse. Good enough for who it's for as they say.

I have had a 12 ton for along time. I beefed it up with some welds as it was a bolt together deal. Did anything I asked combined with a torch.

I have one of there 12 ton ones and it works just fine. I did make a heavier table for it that I can open up for doing things that the factory one would not let me do and I have had it for around 15 years and no problem with it

There is a coupon in this months sale paper on the 20 ton press for $154.99 if I remember right. That is the best price I have seen in a while.

I've had one and for years liked it. Bought the 20 ton air over hyd. jack on sale (from Harbor Freight) for $69.00. I replaced the jack handle one, now all I do is press the lever. Now, I love it!!
jwo.
