Onboard battery charger/maintainer

I want to keep the battery charged and ready on my dump trailer, and I'm looking for something more substantial than these 1.5A charger/maintainers.

I'd like something that could do it overnight and still maintain the battery. I'm not finding charger/maintainers that can do much more than 3A. Something closer to 10A would be more to my liking.

Also would like something I could mount in the tool box on the front of the trailer.

I have a solar panel on top of tool box to keep battery charged for winch. I don't know if this would work for you.

Charger for a boat. Not real expensive. Can get them to do one or up to a bank of 6. The more batteries they do the more $. Minn Kota single is about $50, 2 bank about $100.

I have 3 Craftsman automatic 6/12V charger/maintainers that I use for all of my infrequently used batteries.

I leave them hooked up all of the time and every week or two rotate one or more to the next battery in the cycle.

These are available for around $20.00 if you wait for the right sale.

Yeah, I have a bunch of the $20 ones. They only do 1.5 Amps, though.

I'm looking for a charger/maintainer that does around 10 Amps so the dump trailer battery will charge overnight.

I've had a batteryminder 12248 for about 6 years. It has a 2, 4 and 8 amp setting. I use it all the time to charge dump trailer battery and many others. I think my model has been upgraded. It comes with a 5 year warranty. If I ever need to buy another one, I would definitely go with the batteryminder. It's only a 12v but can be used on jell, flooded and AMG batteries. Not the cheapest one, but rotating it to all my 20+ batteries, I buy fewer batteries. I figure it has paid for itself many times over. Unlike other smart chargers that have damaged batteries, this one hasn't geo.

I have one from NAPA Model 85-510. I don't think they still sell that model but I've been happy with it. Would buy another charger from them if I ever need one.
