Re: JD GT275 Bagger?

I mow an elderly widow lady's lawn with her John Deere 345. It has a bagger attachment on the back but hasn't been used in years. The problem is you have to stop and empty too often. A pull type trailer with an engine would hold more.

You do not need a 3/4 bar to mount the power flow bagger IF you have the correct one. The correct one has a 3/4 pin sticking out of the power flow blower. This slides into a pipe that is welded on to a short flat iron piece. So you would need the mount with the pipe and the double pulley.

In the attached pictures the bracket is item #25 in the top picture. The double pulley is item #15 in the bottom picture.

If your blower needs a 3/4 rod then you did not get the correct one for a JD 48 deck. You may have the blower for a JD 48C deck. They are different. Attach some pictures and I can tell what you have.

I opened my email. So shot me an email and we can exchange phone numbers.

Only problem with a bagger and a vac wagon is they suck up a lot of dust. I have to wear a respirator, but still get dust in my eyes. I don't like using a fresh air system, helmet and air pump with filter, but it keeps things out of your lungs and eyes. I'm going to use the next time I pick up leafs. Hassle to get it on and off, but works best.

I also have a lawn sweeper. I use it to pick up grass with after it drys. It's cleaner, but like the bagger doesn't hold as much as a vac wagon.

I have had both types. Just bags and a chute from the deck. Had to empty the bags WAY to often. A neighbor a couple of houses over had a beauty of an Agri-Fab tow behind for a very good price, like one half price. Hooked her up and LEARNED how to use it correctly. Will pick up better than 30cu ft. each load. You do not just drive around with it. The only dust problem I have is when I am downwind of it. Yes a mask is a good thing to have just like when you are out chopping or making some bales. I also run the deck as high as it will lift. Another thing is put SAND blades on the deck. They have far less lift and don't pick up as much crap out of the lawn. Lastly, pick up a couple of spare air filters with the sponge pre filter on them. I swap them out after a couple of loads and blow them out with the hose. Just what I do.
