Cool old power saw

Stanley Safety saw. 12" blade. When you push the saw across the surface guard raises lowering the blade into the work. Notice the grease cups. Yes it works well, I touched up the blade with a file and it cuts pretty good. Tried it on a cherry 4x6.

I have just one simple question: Does that thing have a ground (third plug) on the electrical cord?

Was used in a large factory to cut through the thick wooden floor when changes were made.

Thats a pretty neat old man killer of a saw. The metal cases on those saws scare me due to the age of the insulation inside the saw causing a ground fault. I would be sure to use a GFCI when you use that thing.

Wow! Brings back memories. We had one of those, or something like it, at a mill I worked at. Weighed about 35 lbs it seemed. A serious piece of equipment.

Bought a pallet of misc at an auction for a few dollars and a saw similar but smaller was part of the deal.

Plugged it in and squeezed the trigger.

Unknown to me until that moment I can dance.
The shock going through my body made it impossible to let go of it
I danced half way across the room before the plug pulled out of the wall.
Could have been much worse had there been a blade on it at the time.
Happened over 30 years ago and I remember it like it was yesterday.
