Scored a metal brake today

Had a friend call me this morning and he had his D-17 stuck. Asked me if I could come over and see if I could get it out. First thing I noticed was the hyds where not working so I check the fluid and it did not read any on the dip stick. Went up to his house and told him and he said he had some so I grabbed what he had and went back to the tractor. Might have been a gal. But that was enough to get the brush hog and loader off the ground. Fired it up and used the brake pedals and got it out.

A couple of years ago his shop had burned down and he had some old tool in it. I had noticed a metal brake in that area. It is set up to use on a press and might be 2 foot wide. So he told me I could have it and a drill press but I'll get the drill press later it was to hot to mess with it today. The drill press is in real sad shape and not sure I'll be able to get it to work again

This one is home made but made good and it is also very heavy. The part that comes down intro the V to bent things is at least an inch thick as if the V part. It is welded to a base plate that is a 1/2 inch or thicker.

Ya I have looked at the ones in farm and home stores a few times thinking it would be nice to have but a price tag of over $200 does not seem worth it since it would not be used much
