The fuel pump died as I was leaving a friend's house at 10pm with a lumber rack full and the bed full of old mixed lumber. I called AAA and the woman I talked to said she knew my kind of C1500 truck and I was over the 14,000lb limit, so I had to unload everything before AAA would tow it. I moved everything to a borrowed truck and made two trips over two days. When I got the truck home, I cut a hole in the bed to access the pump. Now I cannot retract the steel fittings far enough to use a scissor type tool. I've twisted and used WD40 but only have a 1/4" space. I think the fingers are dug into the plastic pipe. Any help appreciated.
