A mprobe RS-3 ?

It may have been 10 years since I last used this clamp on meter.
When I tried to use it to measure AC current, I got no meter reading.
None on any scale.

Instruction sheet does not mention any internal battery.

Any idea why is, doesn't work as ,an ammeter?

I have a klein cl 200 and a greenlee cm 850, both clamp ons , both have internal 9 v batteries. In the amp test mode on ac, it will read individual conductors, but if you try and test both hot and neutral , it will not read an amp draw.
 
On the model I have the battery is in a short wire that plugs into
one of the leads. It is for ohms only. Check to see if the meter
lock is on.

Make sure you have the meter movement lock in the on position. Also check the jaws make sure they are 100% close,
There is a battery in mine it is the accessory lead for resistance readings, and it plugs in on tbe side of the meter.

Here is the manual . first thing says check battery.
I can't seem to post the page but google amprobe manuals page 8 troubleshooting.
 
I fixed it!
Although corrosion was not evident, I sanded the metal contacts of the clamp, and it works like an old one!
