oscillating saw

Got an oscillating saw and I don't think it works. Blade will vibrate but when you go to cut something the blade will start rotating. Makes it almost useless. Sent it in for repair and came back the same condition. The more you put pressure on the blade, the more it will turn. This is a Bosch. Am I missing something?

Well I'm 77 years old and never heard or one. I googled and they look like a nice tool. Now I wonder what other tool I haven't heard about. :?:

I have one. Used it once, then I was injured followed by chemo for leukemia so haven't used it since. Think I'll send it to my grand-nephew on the farm.

Are you referring to an 'orbital' motion? Besides going up and down, it also moves the blade into the wood on the cut stroke and then backs it away on the down? I got one of those and it's like a chain saw compared to a straight up and down motion. Sounds like there's still something wrong with yours. Which model?

Can't help you with the Bosch, mine came from Harbor Freight. They are fantastic for cutting at a right angle to a wall or other obstacle.

Maybe you can take yours back to home Depot or wherever you bought it if it hasn't been too long.
