1971 4020 Injector Puller

Can anyone point me to the correct Injector Puller for the injectors in a 1971 JD 4020? I assume this would include a slide hammer with whatever device attaches to the injector to be pulled. I will also post this on the JD site. Thanks. Paul

If for the Roosa Master nozzles, OTC made the slide hammer puller. You used the same puller on the direct injection Oliver engines as well.

Check the thread where the injector line nit screws on. These threads are typically a standard, straight thread size (often metric). That being the case all you need is a nut of the correct size to screw onto the injector, and another to screw onto the end of your slide hammer. Weld the two nuts together and you have a functional puller.

Over the years I have pulled many injectors this way. I also have a set of Vice-grips with a nut welded to the adjuster, that fits my slide hammer. This works great on things like the pencil injectors found in a 3208 CAT, etc. that don't have a threaded top.

Thanks guys for the comments. I had also posted this on the JD forum and one of the guys directed me to the puller I need on Amazon, OTC 7121.

The ways you have adapted to do the injector pulling is impressive and helpful. I did something similar once to lengthen a slide hammer.

Thanks again.
