1720 DIESEL FORD TRACTOR JUST CUT OFF AND WILL NOT CRANK BAC

Hi every one

I need help !! I have a 1720 Ford diesel tractor with about 08875 hours . I bought it new . Today I crank my tractor up it had been running a few minutes and i put it in reverse and it cut off and will not crank back up . The tractor was running fine with no problem that i could hear or see . It has a full tank of diesel fuel bought yesterday 9 - 9 - 2016 . I did not crank it until today 9 -10 - 2016 .
The battery is fully charge and the tractor was running very good untill now . The starter cranks good but the engine will not start !!
It did just like a gas engine when you turn the ignition off while it is running.

Any and all help would be appreciate !!

Hello redspur,

My first thought is a bad batch of fuel. Chech the filters for water. Also check for water in the tank.
Could have been stirred up during fueling?

Check the solenoid. It's located on the pump. Cycle the key and listen for the chick.

Dirt stirred up in tank, check the fuel filter for the cheapest problem first.

Hi, I had a C 530d some yearsback. I shut it off for
lunch and when I went to start it, it cranked over
good but wouldn't start. After a lot of 'try this, try
that' I found the the rack was stuck. I took the top
off the inj pump and with screw driver , a little
bump and the rack slipped open. Ed Will Oliver BC
