Ramp extensions

Do not know if this applies as a tool or not, but to get my Geo up on the ramps to do any work on it I had to add some extensions on it to keep from hitting the front air dam. I have two of these cars that I drive to work. I try to keep them running well. These also worked on the Honda Accord my wife had for a while.

I use steel scaffold stage 'planks' for the same purpose . You do have to take it easy driving up on them though , one false move and the plank shoots out the back

When a 1.5 ton floor jack was $300 and 2 jack stands were $100, I can understand the appeal of ramps at $50. But today you can get the jack and stands for $75 at HF; use those.

I watched my dad try to get his Caprice on those, overshot them and had to borrow the floor jack to lift the front of the car and get the ramp under the tire. What do you use when you want to work on the brakes?

Ramps are an incredibly bad idea when there are other options.
