i follow eric the car guy. he went over some of auto mechanic tools he uses and likes. he said that 1/4 inch air wrench can get into places 3/8 cant. is there a big advantage in having one of these ? i do farm machinery & small engines including chain saws

I use 1/4" tools more than anything else. If they make it in 1/4" I own it :) among My most prized 1/4" tools are locking extensions, and universals.

Good 1/4" tools are not cheap... A DIY guy can get away with gearwrench sets in chrome and impacts.

This is the handiest 1/4" ratchet I have ever owned I have it in 1/4 and 3/8"... Cheap TOO :) I was looking at it Monday it looks just like the one I brought off a tool truck.

I have 1/2 impact, 3/8 air rachets, 1/4 air rachets. I think you will find 1/4air
rachet really handy working on chain saws, small engines. They are very handy
in there place. Bob

I have a couple of 3/8" ratchets, Roto Head, by S&K like that. They were for changing spark plugs back when plugs needed changing every 20,000 miles. Didn't know anyone else made a ratchet like that.

I've got a 1/4 inch air ratchet, real handy for a lot of things but don't use it much since the cordless impacts came out.

I'm really impressed with Hobo's tool cart. Thinking about getting one because my full roller is a pain to roll to the tractor bay. Nice setup,

I did not put the name tag on it and don't remember the brand. It was on a tool truck he could not sale it I made him a offer he took it I believe it was around $300. The drawers are packed its like a Christmas tree with tolls hanging on all sides.
The top drawers have pliers racks

More 1/4" tools did I say I like 1/4" tools, I may be working on 3 cars at a time so leave a set on each car. Of course you also need 1/4" impacts.

I'm like Hobo, I have about every 1/4" hand and air tool known and they are always my go to tools for smaller fasteners. I really like using my 1/4" impact, also have a butterfly impact that is more compact but use it less, then I have 3 different 1/4 air ratchets. Regular extensions, Locking extensions, wobble extensions, impact sockets, impact swivel sockets, chrome u-joint sockets, shallow, intermediate, and deep sockets all impact and chrome etc... I love tools but they help me make a living too.

Its our on going collage loan debt and it will be till the day comes we lay them down.

A bud got me hooked on 1/4" in the early 80's I thought WHAT you totted a set of 1/4" over here to do a mans job. He was fast and efficient as they come.

For the DIY guy a good starter set.

Are google "GearWrench Model 84903" I picked up a set for less than haft of that price.

I got this one off cracklist for $500 to replace it, once I swapped everything over I was lost so make a quick switch back to the old one.

For those that want a nice rolling tool box keep a eye out on cracklist I see deals all the time. Tables and tops are for stacking junk and I am good at stacking junk. While looking at the matco box I got a ID. I did not like the sliding top I may try and convert the top to hold all my sockets that way I won't stack junk on it :)

I have a Snap-on 1/4 air ratchet that splits in half for service like a hot dog bun. I love it. Lots of torque. I paid $250 for it over 15 years ago but stopped using it when I started teaching. They are great for dash work and smaller underhood repairs.
