I guess I will settle on outlook for my email, but the ads drive me crazy, I will pay the ransom for one yr, but now I cannot find the way to pay for it.. I found the site before I made the decision, now its nowhere to found.. at least I have not found it yet.. some guidance is required it seems thanks

cb, try going to Yahoo.com or MSN.com and click on e-mail.
I think you can set up an account for free.

If it doesn't work out you can just drop it....no problem.

Worth a try

my preference is thunderbird as an email client....very easy to use and configure. works with all email accounts.

Mozilla Thunderbird if free and easy to use .

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/features/

I downloaded it late last year after a recommendation from a member of this forum . I have not regretted this decision once in that time .
Adblock plus is also free and easy to download ,

https://adblockplus.org/

makes Youtube and other applications bearable again . It appears that Facebook is working on blocking the blocker but then if you use Facebook a lot then you probably have time to look at ads as well :)

Just in case.

It seems that there is a Microsoft extra-fancy if you send rich text format via Outlook and it will be unreadable to anyone else not using it.

Been using Hotmail since 2000 and was surprised to see the OP lamenting about the ads! What ads? So I looked, and sure enough there was a Best Buy along the right side! But I've trained myself to not look at them, or just about any other site too. It's just the videos and sound files that eat up my expensive bandwidth that I've learned to avoid at all cost.

Hotmail is OK; the pinheads in Redmond periodically screw it up, last time it caused it to take about 10 seconds to load instead of the 3 seconds it had the previous 15 years....

BE CAREFUL of YAHOO!!!!!!!

Recently I was "compromised", said YAHOO!.

I was very happy for over 15 or so years with YAHOO!

All of my contacts list and accounts payable lists have gotten the report:

I am in Egypt land. GOT ROBBED. Please send money!

It took awhile, but I never was able to get back to YAHOO.

Seems as though it is their "security" not mine.

So for now, I am enjoying traveling all over the world, just raking in symphathy money. :)

Gots to "google me" just to find me.

I have used the same Yahoo address for at least ten years. I get 50 or more spam/junk daily, that doesn't count the ones I have filtered to just not show up.

At work we use the outlook, I don't like it at all. My big problem is I have many contacts who have my Yahoo address. I tried several times to change to something else, but the specific features I like are there, and I'm used to it. (Well, it did change some a few years ago but it's OK)

The big deal is learning to ignore the junk, read what you know is OK, select unread and delete all of that each day. Be very careful though.

If the "powers that be" are successful in letting the UN or whoever start regulating the internet we may have to quit emailing anyway.
