Genie SP-99 drive gear - repair

The original subject was "Genie SP99 drive gear repair".

How successful was the repair to the SP 99 gear? We have not been able to find a replacement gear either. Is it feasible to
do this repair and how well has it held up?

Still running today. Better than new actually. Did you see the update where it did fail because it sheared the (2) SHCS's holding the sprocket on the original? I beefed it up with a bunch more and no problems since.
