Re: dunlap post drill

I have never seen a hand crank drill press like that but still have dads old hand brase drill and use it on drilling wood. I have a Dunlap electric work bench
drill press from the late 40's. The one in picture is what mine looks like and is a handy little drill press.

We didn't get electricity until 1950, so I have lots of experience cranking all the things that we had around the farm. The drill press is still mounted in the same place in the now "old" machine shed. Probably hasn't been used in the last 50 years.

Moonlite is correct about Dunlap being Sears cheaper line of tools. But they were still good tools for the money. I have a few Dunlap power tools that are I still use. They are a bench grinder, a cast iron jig saw and a wood lathe, All Vee Belt driven. All were made in the 1940 s ! clint
